Mourinho Hopes Bumper Contract Will Tempt £50m Star To Join Man Utd Over Tottenham
Manchester United are ready to offer Ryan Sessegnon a lucrative contract to prevent the Fulham sensation from joining Tottenham this summer
The transfer window may be closed but managers are working hard on their plans for the summer so we’ll bring you all the latest gossip from around the globe. Today, the latest on Ryan Sessegnon…
Manchester United are ready to offer Ryan Sessegnon a lucrative contract to prevent the Fulham sensation from joining Tottenham this summer, according to ESPN.
Sessegnon has emerged as one of the most sought-after young talents in Europe after enjoying a stunning two years at Fulham’s since breaking in to the first team set-up last season.
The 17-year-old has provided an impressive 15 goals and 6 assists from the left wing so far this campaign to help the Cottagers challenge for a play-off place in the Championship.
His performances have seen Sessegnon named as the Championship Player of the Season while he was also nominated for the PFA Young Player of the Year despite playing in the Championship.
Understandably, the teenager – who can play left-back or left wing – has attracted interest from the upper echelons of the Premier League with ESPN claiming that Man Utd and Tottenham are among the clubs chasing his signature.
The report says United believe Sessegnon wants to remain in London which puts Spurs in the driving seat as Mauricio Pochettino looks to find a replacement for Danny Rose – who’s expected to leave this summer.
However, ESPN claim that United aren’t prepared to give up without a fight and are ready to try and lure Sessegnon to Old Trafford with a lucrative contract offer.
Jose Mourinho is looking to bring in a new left-back as Luke Shaw is tipped to leave after falling out-of-favour while Ashley Young turns 33 in July so a long-term replacement is needed and Sessegnon has emerged as a prime target.
But Fulham will do all they can to keep hold of the teen star – particularly if they gain promotion to the top flight – and TeamTalk claim they’ve slapped a £50m price-tag on his head.

It remains to be seen whether United or Spurs will be prepared to pay that kind of money for the teenager but I think Sessegnon has a huge future ahead of him so it will be a major coup for whoever ends up buying him.
