Man Utd & Tottenham In Battle To Sign £50m Star This Summer

The summer transfer window is fast approaching and managers are working hard on their transfer targets so we’ll bring you all the latest gossip from around the globe. Today, the latest on Ryan Sessegnon…
Manchester United and Tottenham are facing a battle with Paris Saint-Germain to sign £50m-rated Fulham star Ryan Sessegnon this summer, according to the Mirror.
Sessegnon is one of the most sought-after young players in European football after enjoying a meteoric rise having broken in to the Fulham first team set-up last season.
The 17-year-old has provided 15 goals and 6 assists to help fire Fulham in to the Championship play-offs where they’ll now meet Derby for a place in the final later this month.
His performances have led to Sessegnon being named as the EFL Player of the Season while he was also nominated for the PFA Young Player of the Year despite playing in the Championship.
Understandably, the teenager – who can play at left-back or left wing – has attracted interest from the Premier League with the Mirror claiming that United and Spurs have been leading the race for his signature.
Jose Mourinho is expected to be in the market for a new left-back as Luke Shaw’s future is in doubt while Ashley Young turns 33 this year and Sessegnon has been viewed as a potential long-term replacement.
Mauricio Pochettino is also being tipped to sign another left-back amid speculation over the future of Danny Rose and Tottenham were hoping the lure of staying in London would tempt Sessegnon to White Hart Lane.
However, the duo will now face stiff competition from PSG as the Mirror claim the Ligue 1 champions have identified Sessegnon as a prime summer transfer target as they look to strengthen their options on the left.
Fulham are obviously desperate to keep hold of him and they’ll stand more chance if they gain promotion to the top flight. However, if they fail to get through the play-offs then they may have to cash-in and the Mirror suggest a deal will cost around £50m.

It remains to be seen if United, Spurs or PSG will be prepared to pay that kind of money but Sessegnon has a huge future ahead of him so it will be a major coup for whoever ends up buying him.
