Brighton vs Tottenham Preview | Latest Team News | Expected Line-Ups | Prediction
Here is our match preview ahead of Tottenham’s Premier League clash with Brighton including team news, expected line-ups and predicted score
Tottenham will be desperate to get back to winning ways when they take on Brighton & Hove Albion at the Amex Stadium on Saturday evening.
Mauricio Pochettino is facing the toughest test of his Tottenham career after suffering three consecutive defeats in recent weeks and the Argentinean coach has admitted he fears being sacked if their poor run continues much longer – although I highly doubt Daniel Levy is even close to pulling the trigger.
Having already lost to Watford, Spurs slumped at home to Liverpool last weekend before conceding two late goals to lose against Inter Milan in the Champions League in midweek so Pochettino is under pressure to get back to winning ways.
Brighton head in to the game sitting 14th in the table after drawing 2-2 with Southampton last time out and boss Chris Hughton has admitted he’s fearing a backlash from Tottenham tomorrow evening.
Team news
Spurs will continue to be without first choice goalkeeper Hugo Lloris as the Frenchman isn’t due to return from a thigh injury until next week so Michel Vorm will remain in goal.
However, Dele Alli is back in contention after recovering from a hamstring injury that’s kept him out of the last three matches – although Pochettino insists he won’t rush the attacker back too soon so a place on the bench may be the best he can hope for.
Moussa Sissoko is also back in full training after overcoming a hamstring injury while Kieran Trippier and Toby Alderweireld are set to return after missing the Inter game in midweek.
Brighton will be without midfielder Pascal Gross due to injury but Florin Andone and Jose Izquierdo are available to make their first appearances of the season.
Expected line-ups
Predicted score
Brighton 1-2 Tottenham: Brighton are usually strong at home and have already beaten Manchester United at the Amex this season so I think this will be a tough game for Tottenham. However, Spurs have lost just one of their last nine meetings with Brighton in all competitions and they were unlucky against Inter in midweek having dominated for much of the game. It will be a tight match but I think Spurs will edge it tomorrow.
