Tottenham will hope to break in to the top four of the Premier League with a win when they take on Huddersfield Town at the John Smith’s Stadium on Saturday afternoon.

Spurs head in to the weekend action sitting just one point behind fourth-placed Watford and with the Hornets facing sixth-placed Arsenal at the Emirates, Tottenham have a great opportunity to get themselves back in the Champions League qualification places tomorrow.

Mauricio Pochettino’s men were pushed all the way by Watford in midweek as they needed a penalty shootout win to book their place in the fourth round of the Carabao Cup following a thrilling 2-2 draw at the MK Dons Stadium.

Tottenham will now take on Huddersfield side who’ve had a full week to prepare for the game as they crashed out of the League Cup following defeat to Stoke City in the previous round of the competition.

David Wagner’s side have endured a tough start to the new campaign as they currently sit bottom of the Premier League table with just two points to show from their opening six matches so they’ll be desperate to pick up a positive result this weekend.

Spurs will be without Christian Eriksen as the Danish international suffered an abdomen injury at Brighton last week but Dele Alli made his return to the starting eleven with a goal-scoring display in midweek.

Hugo Lloris remains a major doubt with a thigh injury while Michel Vorm is still carrying a knee injury so third choice goalkeeper Paulo Gazzaniga could continue between the sticks.

Serge Aurier will face a late fitness test on a thigh injury but the likes of Kieran Trippier, Danny Rose, Jan Vertonghan, Mousa Dembele and Harry Kane are all pushing for recalls.

Huddersfield will continue to be without Ramadan Sobhi due to a knee injury while Danny Williams is also out with a knee problem and Juninho Bacuna and Collin Quaner remain doubts.
