Liverpool have suffered a fresh double injury concern with Jordan Henderson and Adam Lallana picking up knocks during the 1-0 win over Huddersfield Town this evening.

Henderson captained the Reds at the John Smith’s Stadium but the 28-year-old was substituted at half-time with Georginio Wijnaldum being introduced from the bench and the Express claim the England international suffered a hamstring problem during the opening forty-five minutes.

Jurgen Klopp’s options in the middle of the park where further stretched when Lallana – who was making his first start of the season after recently recovering from a groin injury – was also forced off during the second period after picking up an ankle issue.

It’s not yet known how serious either injury is as Henderson and Lallana will need to further assessed by Liverpool medics before the full extent of the issues are known but Klopp will be praying for positive news.

The Liverpool boss already had to make do without the services of Naby Keita against Huddersfield after the midfielder suffered a hamstring injury while away with the Guinea squad during the international break.

Klopp provided an update ahead of tonight’s win at Huddersfield and said the injury isn’t too serious but suggested they may have to be ‘patient’ with the midfielder amid reports he’s facing a couple of weeks on the sidelines.

Sadio Mane was also not included in the squad that travelled to the John Smith’s Stadium this evening after undergoing surgery on a broken thumb earlier this week but Klopp’s confident the attacker will be available again soon.

He told BT Sport as per Liverpoolfc.com:

“They are normal issues. Both are not too serious; they cannot play today, which is never good, but it shouldn’t be that long,”

“Sadio especially, we have to see how it develops in the next few days. Naby, maybe we have to be a bit more patient”

We’ll have to wait and see how the quartet all progress over the coming days but it remains to be seen whether Keita, Henderson, Lallana or Mane will be available for Liverpool’s Champions League clash with Red Star Belgrade at Anfield on Wednesday night.
