Tottenham Hotspur have provided a full team news and injury update ahead of their Carabao Cup quarter-final clash with Arsenal on Wednesday night.

Spurs make the short trip across north London to the Emirates Stadium tomorrow night looking to avenge their 4-2 Premier League defeat earlier this month but Mauricio Pochettino has some injury concerns to deal with.

The club have confirmed a big blow with the news that Jan Vertonghen has been ruled out of the festive period after picking up a thigh injury during Tottenham’s 1-1 Champions League draw with Barcelona last week.

The Belgian international will now miss the trip to Arsenal tomorrow along with the subsequent matches against Everton, Bournemouth and Wolves while he’ll also be a major doubt for the Cardiff game on New Year’s Day.

Mousa Dembele is once again missing as the midfielder is still working his way back from an ankle injury while Serge Aurier will also miss the Arsenal game due to an on-going groin problem.

Victor Wanyama has stepped-up his recovery from a knee injury after commencing gym work but the Kenyan international is still some way from being available for selection again.

With Eric Dier ruled out until January after having his appendix removed this week, it means Pochettino will be without five players for Tottenham’s League Cup clash with Arsenal tomorrow night.

However, there was some positive news for Spurs as the club have confirmed that Juan Foyth and Davinson Sanchez have returned to full training after recovering from hamstring injuries and could be in contention to face the Gunners.

Pochettino is expected to rotate his starting eleven against Arsenal with the Spurs boss prioritising the Premier League over the Carabao Cup with some important games coming up over the Christmas period.

It means Tottenham’s key players could be given a rest with the likes of Paulo Gazzaniga, Harry Winks, Fernando Llorente, Heung-min Son and Kyle Walker Peters expected to feature at the Emirates.
