Manchester United are hoping to pull-off a £130m double swoop for Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Harry Maguire as Ole Gunnar Solksjaer continues his summer spending spree, according to the Evening Standard.
Solskjaer is expected to be extremely active over the coming weeks as he looks to get his transfer business done early ahead of the new season and the United boss has already got a deal in place to sign winger Daniel James from Swansea City.
However, improving the back four is also a priority for the Norwegian coach after Man Utd conceded 54 goals last season to finish sixth in the Premier League but it’s going to take considerable funds to land Solskjaer’s prime targets.
United are in the market for a new right-back as Antonio Valencia has left the club and Ashley Young turns 34 next month so Solskjaer needs a long-term replacement to compete with youngster Diogo Dalot over the coming years.
Wan-Bissaka has emerged as a key target and the Evening Standard claims Man Utd are hoping an improved £50m offer will be enough to get a deal agreed after seeing their opening bid worth £40m including add ons rejected by Crystal Palace.
The England U21 international was one of the best right-backs in the Premier League last season after enjoying a superb campaign at Selhurst Park so he’d be an excellent addition to the squad if United could secure a deal.
Solskjaer is also on the look out for a new centre-back to partner Victor Lindelof next season and the Evening Standard says United are pressing ahead with their interest in signing Harry Maguire after admitting defeat in their pursuit of Matthijs de Ligt.
The Manchester giants have renewed their interest in Maguire after being linked last summer but the newspaper says Leicester City now value the 26-year-old at £90m following another impressive season at the King Power.
However, the report suggests that United are confident an £80m offer will prove too good for Leicester to refuse so it means the Red Devils are ready to splash £130m in order to land Maguire and Wan-Bissaka this summer.

We’ll have to wait and see how things develop over the coming weeks but it looks like it’s going to be a busy summer at Old Trafford and I think Maguire and Wan-Bissaka would be excellent signings if they could pull-off this proposed double swoop.
