Managers are working hard trying to strengthen their squads during the summer transfer window so we’ll bring you all the latest news and gossip from around the globe. Today, Man Utd have agreed a deal to sign Aaron Wan-Bissaka….
Aaron Wan-Bissaka will undergo his medical today and sign a contract worth £80,000-a-week after Manchester United agreed a £50m deal with Crystal Palace, according to the BBC.
United have been locked in talks with Palace for weeks after Ole Gunnar Solskjaer identified Wan-Bissaka as a key summer transfer target as he looks to strengthen his options at right-back following a disappointing season.
We’ve seen a huge amount of speculation in the media over the past few days but it seems a deal is now on the verge of completion as the BBC are one of several media outlets reporting that Man Utd have finally agreed a £50m deal with Palace.
The BBC claims Wan-Bissaka is expected to travel to Manchester today to undergo his medical after the two clubs reached a breakthrough in negotiations. Once the transfer is complete, the defender will then head off on holiday to enjoy a rest ahead of the new season after competing at the Euro 2019 Championships with the England U21s this summer.
The report says the 21-year-old is set to sign a long-term contract at Old Trafford worth at least £80,000-a-week – which is a huge increase from his current £10,000-a-week salary that he earns at Selhurst Park.
Unless there is a last minute hiccup, it looks like Wan-Bissaka is set to become Man Utd’s second major signing of the summer following the arrival of Daniel James from Swansea and I think he’ll be a superb addition to Solskjaer’s squad.
The young full-back enjoyed a breakthrough campaign with Palace last season that saw him establish himself as Roy Hodgson’s first choice right-back and he’s considered to be one of the most exciting young talents in British football.
