Managers are working hard trying to strengthen their squads during the summer transfer window so we’ll bring you all the latest news and gossip from around the globe. Today, Aaron Wan-Bissaka has completed his move to Man Utd….
Aaron Wan-Bissaka has finally been unveiled as a Manchester United player after completing a £50m move from Crystal Palace today, United have confirmed on ManUtd.com.
Wan-Bissaka had been strongly linked with a move to Old Trafford throughout the early stages of the summer after Ole Gunnar Solskjaer identified the full-back as one of his key summer signings.
The United boss needs to strengthen his options at right-back as Antonio Valencia has left the club, Ashley Young is 33 and Diogo Dalot is still considered too raw to be a regular starter in the Premier League.
Wan-Bissaka was the man Solskjaer wanted to be his long-term right-back and a move was on the cards after the Evening Standard reported on Thursday that United had agreed terms with Palace over a deal worth £45m up front with a further £5m coming in performance-related add-ons.
The 21-year-old completed his medical at Carrington and agreed personal terms before footage of the player undertaking his photo-shoot was leaked on the internet yesterday ahead of the official announcement.
There was almost a dramatic late twist as the deal was put in jeopardy when Palace made a late demand to have a clause inserted into the contract that would allow them 10 percent of any future sale above £50m.
The Sun claims Man Utd eventually caved to their demands and the Red Devils have now finally unveiled Wan-Bissaka as Manchester United player on their official website after he signed a five-year contract with an option to extend by a further year.
After completing his move, Aaron Wan-Bissaka told ManUtd.com:
“It’s an unbelievable feeling and an honour to call myself a Manchester United player and something I know that only a small number of players have the privilege to say.
“I can’t wait to get going and integrated into the squad. I will have a short break now after the European Championships but I’m looking forward to starting training with the manager and my new team-mates on the pre-season tour.”
Wan-Bissaka enjoyed his breakthrough campaign last season as he established himself as Roy Hodgson’s first choice right-back having made his debut in February 2018 and he was named as by the Crystal Palace fans as their player of the year.

The defender is now considered to be one of the most highly-rated young talents in British football so he should prove to be a superb signing for United and he becomes Solskjaer’s second major signing of the summer following the arrival of winger Daniel James from Swansea.
