Arsenal confident of agreeing £22m deal, formal bid expected within 48 hours
Arsenal are confident they can sign Kieran Tierney for £22m this summer and are expected to table an improved bid for the Celtic star within 48 hours
Managers are working hard trying to strengthen their squads during the summer transfer window so we’ll bring you all the latest news and gossip from around the globe. Here, Arsenal are set to make another offer for Kieran Tierney…
Arsenal are confident they can sign Kieran Tierney for £22m this summer and are expected to table an improved bid for the Celtic left-back within 48 hours, according to the Daily Record.
Unai Emery is looking to strengthen his squad ahead of the new season following a disappointing debut campaign in England and defence is a particular area of concern after we conceded 51 goals in our 38 league games.
Emery seemed reluctant to use Nacho Monreal at left-back as the 33-year-old spent the majority of his time in a back three while Sead Kolasinac was exposed defensively at times last season so the boss is on the market for a new left-sided defender.
Tierney has emerged as Arsenal’s prime target as he’s capable of playing left-back and wing-back and he’s been one of the best players in Scottish football since breaking into the Celtic first team four years ago.
It looks like we’re serious about signing the full-back as the Daily Record says Arsenal are expected to return with an improved offer within the next 48 hours after seeing an opening £15m offer for Tierney rejected by Celtic.
The newspaper says Arsenal chiefs are confident £22m will be enough to get a deal agreed despite the Scottish champions demanding £25m for the 22-year-old’s signature this summer.
It’s reported that Arsenal have been forced to submit a new bid faster than expected amid fears Napoli could hijack our move but Calcio Napoli 24 claims we remains firmly in pole position ahead of the Italians to secure a deal.

In a further boost for Arsenal, Celtic seem to be planning for Tierney’s exit after signing left-back Boli Bolingoli-Mbombo this afternoon so it looks like that the Scottish international will be on the move soon with Arsenal favourites to snap him up.
Let’s see how things progress over the coming days but I think Tierney would be an excellent addition to the squad so I pray Arsenal manage to get a deal over the line.
