Man Utd to submit formal offer for 32-goal star this week, club ready to sell
Manchester United will make a formal bid to sign Bruno Fernandes this week as Sporting Lisbon prepare to cash-in on the attacking midfielder
Managers are working hard trying to strengthen their squads during the summer transfer window so we’ll bring you all the latest news and gossip from around the globe. Here, Man Utd to launch Bruno Fernandes bid….
Manchester United will make a formal bid to sign Bruno Fernandes this week as Sporting Lisbon prepare to cash-in on the attacking midfielder, according to reports via the Express.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has already snapped-up winger Daniel James from Swansea while right-back Aaron Wan-Bissaka has arrived from Crystal Palace but the United boss is expected to bring in at least two more signings before the window closes in 3 weeks.
A central midfielder is on the agenda and Fernandes has been touted as a prime target throughout the summer with widespread reports suggesting that Man Utd are desperate to lure the Portuguese international to Old Trafford.
Gazetta dello Sport journalist Nicolo Schira claimed earlier this month that Fernandes’ agent Miguel Pinho was in England to hold talks with United over a potential move this summer.
The Express are now citing Times journalist Duncan Castles as claiming that Pinho has informed Sporting Lisbon that a formal offer will be put forward by the Manchester giants before the end of this week.
Castles told the Transfer Window podcast:
“It’s welcome [news] to Sporting, whether it turns into the transfer that a lot of Manchester United fans are hoping for we will find out,”
“Sporting have been informed by Bruno Fernandes’ agent, his brother—in-law Miguel Pinho, that an offer will come in from Manchester United this week.”
It remains to be seen what offer Man Utd will put on the table but it seems Sporting are prepared to do business for Fernandes as Sky Sports reporter Dharmesh Sheth claims the Portuguese outfit feel now is the right time to cash-in:
Sheth is quoted as saying by the Express:
“More from Sporting Lisbon’s side, there is a feeling that this is the primetime to sell Bruno Fernandes,”
“Manchester United put premium on the price and secondly he’s just come off the back of his best ever season 32 goals in 50 games. Are they going to get this money ever again?”
We’ll have to wait and see how things progress but Fernandes would be an excellent signing for United if they can take him to Old Trafford before the start of the new season.

The 24-year-old midfielder contributed a staggering 32 goals and 18 assists last season so he’d certainly provide some much-needed creativity in Solskjaer’s side if a deal can be agreed.
