We’re now at the business end of the summer transfer window and managers are working hard trying to strengthen their squads so we’ll bring you all the latest news and gossip from around the globe. Here, Man Utd have opened talks for Christian Eriksen…
Manchester United have opened talks with Tottenham over a potential deal to sign Christian Eriksen this summer, according to Italian journalist Tancredi Palmeri.
Eriksen has been a superb signing for Tottenham since joining the club from Ajax in 2013 with the attacking midfielder forming an excellent understanding with the likes of of Harry Kane, Dele Alli and Hueng-min Son in recent years.
However, the Danish international has just one year left on his current contract and is showing no sign of penning an extension after going public with his desire to seek a new challenge earlier in the summer.
Spurs are being tipped to cash-in on Eriksen before the window closes rather than risk losing him for nothing in 12 months time and it’s led to speculation linking the playmaker with a big-money move to Manchester United.
The Daily Mail reported last week that Tottenham value Eriksen at around £70m and the newspaper says United have asked to be kept informed about any developments regarding the players situation.
It appears Man Utd have now stepped-up their interest as Palmeri – who works for beIN Sports and Gazzetta dello Sport – claims the Manchester giants have made fresh contact with Tottenham to discuss a potential deal for Eriksen.

No doubt Spurs chairman Daniel Levy would prefer to sell abroad rather than do business with a domestic rival but the north Londoners may need to sell Eriksen in order to make room for the arrival of Real Betis star Giovani Lo Celso.
Spurs have sold key players to United in the past and it looks as though Eriksen could be the latest player to switch White Hart Lane for Old Trafford if a deal can be agreed between the two clubs.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has signed winger Daniel James and right-back Aaron Wan-Bissaka so far this summer but he’s reportedly in the market for a creative midfielder and Eriksen would be a superb signing if they could pull it off.
