Injured Arsenal duo Hector Bellerin and Kieran Tierney have been stepping-up their rehabilitation on the training pitches at London Colney today.
Bellerin has been on the sidelines since suffering an ACL injury during Arsenal’s win over Chelsea back in January and it’s been a long hard road to recovery for the Spanish full-back.
However, Bellerin is slowly stepping up his workload and is now taking part in light training sessions on the pitches at Arsenal’s training base with a view to being back in action at some point in October.
Let’s hope his recovery continues to go smoothly over the coming weeks as we’ve sorely missed Bellerin over the past eight months and he’ll be a huge addition to the team when he’s available again.
Tierney completed a £25m move to Arsenal from Celtic on deadline day last week and he arrived still nursing an on-going groin injury which is expected to keep him sidelines for a number of weeks.
The Scottish international has also been training away from the main squad at London Colney and is hoping to be back in full training with his new team-mates in early October.
Obviously it’s frustrating that one of our big-money summer signings is injured but Tierney will be an Arsenal player for many years to come so we need to give him the time he needs to fully recover from this niggling groin injury.
Granit Xhaka also trained away from the squad today as he’s a doubt for Saturday’s clash with Burnley due to a bruised back while Dinos Mavropanos continued his recovery from a groin injury.
