Manchester United will be looking for a win over Sheffield United at Bramall Lane on Sunday afternoon. Here is the team we think Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will select for the game:
Goalkeeper: I don’t think there is any point deliberating for too long over who’ll start in goal as David De Gea is certain to keep his place with Sergio Romero on the bench.
Defence: Man Utd’s injury concerns in defence are starting to ease. Eric Bailly, Tim Fosu-Mensah and Diogo Dalot have stepped-up their recoveries by returning to training but they won’t be available tomorrow while Marcos Rojo has been ruled out with a muscle injury.
Luke Shaw is close to making his return from a hamstring injury while Axel Tuanzebe is also back in training following a groin problem but they still lack match fitness so may not be risked against Sheffield United.
However, Ashley Young returns from suspension so he could replace Brandon Williams at left-back despite the youngster impressing against Brighton while Aaron Wan-Bissaka, Harry Maguire and Victor Lindelof should all keep their places in the back four.
Midfield: Manchester United have been dealt a big blow as Scott McTominay is facing a spell on the sidelines after suffering an ankle injury during the win over Brighton two weeks ago.
United will again be without the services of Paul Pogba as the Frenchman is still working his way back from an ankle injury. Nemanja Matic is back in training and while he isn’t match fit, Solskjaer may decide to risk him with McTominay and Pogba out.
Fred should get another chance to impress after a run in the Man Utd team lately. Youngster James Garner is an option for Solskjaer but I think we’ll see Andreas Pereira starting alongside Fred and Matic in a midfield three.
Attack: United now have their preferred attack fully fit so we should see Anthony Martial once again leading the line up front and the Frenchman will be hoping to get on the score-sheet following a frustrating campaign so far.
Marcus Rashford will be looking to build on his goal during the 3-1 win over Brighton last time out with the England international playing on from the left side of the Man Utd attack.
Jesse Lingard, Juan Mata and Mason Greenwood are options for Solskjaer but I think we’ll see Daniel James completing the front three with the youngster starting from the right wing at Bramall Lane tomorrow.
Here is how we think Manchester United will line-up:
