“KroenkesOut” – Piers Morgan blasts Arsenal following ‘awful’ defeat to Brighton

Celebrity fan Piers Morgan has blasted Arsenal’s performance during the 2-1 defeat to Brighton on Thursday night and called for the owners to leave the club.

Freddie Ljungberg took charge of his first home game as interim manager having been held to a 2-2 draw at Norwich City in his opening match but the Swede has so far been unable to turn things around.

After a bright opening 15 minutes from Arsenal, Brighton took control and we fell behind when Adam Webster fired home a loose ball following some poor defending from a 36th minute corner.

Nicolas Pepe was introduced at half-time and he made an impact as he forced a corner which led to Alexandre Lacazette heading home with a looping header to make it 1-1 in the 49th minute.

However, instead of kicking-on to win the game, Arsenal struggled to impose themselves on a confident Brighton team and more poor defending led to the visitors restoring their lead thanks to an 80th minute header from Neal Maupay.

Arsenal had no answer to the setback and we slumped to a disappointing 2-1 defeat which extends our winless run to nine games in all competitions – our worst run since the 70’s.

Understandably, fans are livid at the state of the club right now and life-long Arsenal supporter Piers Morgan was among those who took to social media to vent their anger after the game.

Morgan blasted Arsenal as an ‘absolute bloody shambles’ and he fears we’ll be dragged into a relegation battle following last night’s ‘awful’ performance. The TV presenter is expecting a humiliating defeat at the hands of Man City next weekend and called for the owners to leave the club after tweeting the hashtag ‘KroenkesOUT’.
