Premier League players who earn big money from endorsement deals
Premier League footballers are some of the best paid athlete’s in world sport with some elite players tied to long-term contracts which earn them over £300,000-a-week. However, footballers supplement their salary’s with lucrative endorsement deals which can sometimes match their weekly wage.
It’s a big-money industry and matched betting experts OddsMonkey have conducted research to identify a number of Premier League football players who earn megabucks from their commercial deals.
Cristiano Ronaldo
The Portuguese superstar has been one of the best players on the planet over the past decade and has earned a fortune from his big-money contracts. Having re-joined Manchester United last summer from Juventus, Ronaldo now earns £385,000-a-week at Old Trafford but his salary is overshadowed by his off-the-field commercial deals. According to research, Ronaldo earned £33.8m from endorsement deals and social media activities in 2020.
Paul Pogba
Another high-profile Manchester United player, Paul Pogba has earned a reputation as one of the best midfielders in the world and he’s been able to cash-in both on and off the field. As well as earning around £15m per year (spotrac) at Old Trafford, the French World Cup winner took home almost £4m from commercial deals last year thanks mainly to a long-term partnership with Adidas.
Jordan Henderson MBE
Since joining Liverpool from Sunderland, Henderson has forged a reputation as one of the best captains in the country and has also made his mark on the international stage having been named as the England Player of the Year. The midfielder is on a £7.2m a year contract at Anfield but he’s also tied to several commercial deals with the likes of Maxi Muscle and Nike which earn him around £1m a year.
Harry Kane MBE
As one of the best goalscorers in the world and England captain, Kane is a prominent figure in the Premier League and fully justifies his £10m a year salary with Tottenham Hotspur. Kane also has a number of endorsement deals with Nike, Lucozade Sport and Hugo Boss which earns him around £1.4m a year.
Mohamed Salah
Arguably the most in-form player in world football, Salah has been a revelation since joining Liverpool from AS Roma in 2017. The Egyptian international has scored over 100 Premier League goals and is expected to sign a huge new contract at Anfield worth in excess of his current £10m-a-year deal. Salah has also signed several commercial deals with the likes of Vodafone Egypt, Uber, Electronic Arts, and Adidas which have bagged him over £9m.
N’Golo Kanté
Kante is widely regarded as one of the best defensive midfielders in the world and is currently the second best paid player at Chelsea having signed a £15m a year deal. The French international is also tied to a 5-year deal with Adidas which is reportedly worth around £15m.
As you can see from this study, elite Premier League footballers are earning a fortune on top of their salary thanks to lucrative commercial deals and this trend is only expected to intensify over the coming years.
