Manchester United To Accept £22m For Star Striker?
If reports are to be true, Manchester United are reportedly considering selling Bulgarian striker Dimitar Berbatov. This come amidst reports that Bayern Munich are readying a €25m (£22m) for the former Tottenham striker.
Berbatov has not been happy sitting out on the bench for Manchester United over the recent weeks and his prolific goalscoring record has prompted the Allianz Arena giants to make a move for him in the coming summer transfer window.
Berbatov enjoyed a successful time in Germany with Bayer Leverkusen, netting 91 goals for the club before moving to White Hart Lane in the summer of 2006 and now incoming Bayern Munich boss Jupp Heynckes wants to bring the 30 year old to spearhead the Bavarian side’s attack. There is growing speculation that current top scorer at Bayern Munich, Mario Gomez, may well be heading to Italy where there is interest from both Napoli and Lazio.
Ferguson is currently more content with the formidable strike partnership in England’s Wayne Rooney and young Mexican Javier Hernandez (Or otherwise known as Chicharito). 22 million might be a bit inflated given Berbatov’s age, but it is definitely worth considering the fact that this is the best season of his career (so far).
