Liverpool plotting swoop for Crysencio Summerville
Liverpool are reportedly plotting a swoop for Leeds United star Crysencio Summerville, as per Football Transfers.
The 22-year-old has been enjoying a stellar campaign this term, scoring 12 goals and notching up six assists in 23 Championship appearances.
The Dutchman has been playing a key role in the Peacocks’ quest for promotion this season, sitting fourth in the table with 48 points from 26 games.
So, it appears having been impressed by Summerville’s recent performances, Liverpool have registered their interest in signing the winger to bolster their attack.
According to the report by Football Transfers, the Merseyside club have been keeping a close eye on Summerville’s recent performances before making a potential swoop for him next summer.
Summerville to Liverpool
The report further claims that along with the 22-year-old, Liverpool have been showing an interest in signing Michael Olise as well so they could look to make a swoop to secure both wingers’ signatures at the end of this season.
Summerville – valued at around £16m by Transfermarkt – still has more than two and a half years left in his current contract so Leeds are in a strong position to demand a big fee if they are forced to cash-in. So, Liverpool will have to spend a sizeable amount of money to sign the winger this year.
The Dutchman is a versatile winger as he can play on either flank. He is quick, technically sound, can dribble past opposition defenders in tight areas, has the ability to finish off chances and also can contribute opportunities for fellow teammates.
In addition, Summerville works extremely hard without possession and also likes to press the opposition higher up the field. So, the forward possesses the necessary attributes to play in Jurgen Klopp’s system.
Therefore, he would be a shrewd signing for the Merseyside club with a view to the long-term future if they purchase him. However, Liverpool already are well-stocked in their attacking department so they don’t need to invest more money to sign another forward.
However, it is going to be interesting to see whether the Anfield club eventually opt to make a concrete approach to sign Summerville in the upcoming window.
