Torres: “I Am Not Sorry I Signed For Chelsea”

Chelsea striker Fernando Torres admits he had a poor season in front of goal last year. Only scoring 12 goals all season isn’t something the Spanish international is familiar with, he said:

“For me the past season was the worst since I arrived in England. The injury I sustained at the end the World Cup damaged my performance and made things more complicated than at any time in my career.

“Twelve goals in all in a season is nothing for me. Never during the season did I play to 100 per cent, neither for Liverpool or Chelsea.”

The £50million striker only scored one goal for the Blues, nine for Liverpool and two for Spain, but the former Liverpool man believes he will come good next season and doesn’t regret signing for the Chelsea:

“So I prefer to forget what happened. But I am not sorry I signed for Chelsea. I am convinced that when the Chelsea machine is at its full rhythm we will be very difficult to beat.”

Isn’t it obvious for to confirm that you do not regret joining Chelski.
Your pay check is proof enough my dear Fernando!!!!!!!

You do not care as long your bank account is leaving your bank manager happy. Who are you trying to fool.

On the pitch you have become the worst foreign import as you relied on the perfect service you received from Gerrard, reina and ALL your ex teamates.
At Chelsea you are mediocre and a very ordinary player taking place of home grown talent.
You are and will remain WALKING ALL ALONE.

hahahahahahahahha, another scouser criticising Chelsea’s payment, so you know we didn’t offer a second class player like Andy Caroll £35m and offered him 50% wage more than his wage at Newcastle… Torres recieves £10,000 more than Lampard and Terry while other players recieve £40,000 less than Terry.
He is right ‘Torres’ because he joined one of the most feared teams in Europe and Chelsea at their best are very tough to play against, and Chelsea will continue to succeed on and on.

I don’t think his heart was ever in the move. I think we’ve seen the best of him and Liverpool must be laughing their socks off coming out of the deal with Andy Carrol and Luis Suarez

You have made a decision and it is destroying you if you dont get it together from the start of this season it will be schevchenko mk2 and you will be playing for malaga or alaves by january but being a red i dont really care what you do coz i just cant get enough i just cant get enough suarez dudududu luis suarez. yea you torres don’t have to sorry for leaving lfc and sign for chelsea fc,bkus when you were arround you ask the managers to bring in quality players to boolster the squard so that lfc can compete for trophy and hold down top 4 position for champions league but the managers failed so you have the right to leave, presently that same thing is happening the managers does’nt want to bring in quality players to help [suarz]and others to lift lfc up,i wish all the best at chelsea fc.

he left for chelsea, who cares. he will play good for chelsea as he is a qualitiy player and to be fair he was right to leave liverpool at that time. liverpool could not rely on gerrard and torres for ever and to be fair suarez may not have the ariel ability torres does but he makes up for it with his runs and skill. this year has also seen a transition at liverpool where people are not highlighted as the saviour of the team, except maybe kenny!!! all in all liverpool have moved on we are finally getting our shit together on and off the field so hopefully the youngsters we have got may not leave in thier prime, hopefully they will be winning things with liverpool.

Why must people keep holding onto the past?? He is not like other footballers, doesn’t mess around and is devoted to his family! Sure I was upset when he moved to Chelsea,( he’s my fave footballer)but Chelsea and Liverpool are better teams now! I am sick and tired of people making fools of themselves out of something that was only for the best. He’s happy and so is Liverpool. You will see a changed man making lots of goals next season. Give it a rest and look forward, be POSITIVE!

      i agree totally.

what goals he gave us !! i have great memories of him scoring brilliant goals and i’ll never forget them just cause he moved to chelsea.

hicks and gillett’s running of our beloved club probably put doubts in the mind of most of our players about what direction the club was going in so it was inevitable that someone would leave.

i hated the manner in which torres left but i wish him all the best. Y N W A

Well, “Nando”…this works out well for everyone, because you are CLEARLY not missed at Anfield, where you had obviously “checked out” (QUIT TRYING”) about 18 months before you finally left for Roman’s rubles.
I’ve seen virtually every Liverpool match for the past two seasons, and your all-too-frequent lack of effort, half-hearted performances on the pitch, unfortunately, became the rule and not the exception…head down, shoulders slumped, not tracking back, no effort to regain the ball when you lost possession, which occurred with ever-increasing frequency, sniping at opposing players and referees for fouls, real and imagined. It all became tiresome and disappointing and certainly NOT the behavior of a “professional”, as you so pointedly felt the need to refer to yourself, just after leaving for Chelsea.
Sorry, Torres, but you quit playing for us LONG before you actually left, and for that reason, and for your disparaging remarks about Liverpool after you left, you will NOT be missed.

He really cannot open his mouth without mentioning Liverpool. I wonder who he trying to convince by constantly stating he doesn’t regret going to Chelsea…

Thanks for the goals, and the 50million Fernando!

I hope he enjoys his time at Chelsea, being nothing more than a mercenary in a squad full of mercenaries… When he retires he can look back and think “I could have been a legend at one of Europe’s most successful clubs, but I went for a bit more money instead… I don’t regret it though, honest”.

Jeremy kyle had torres on the lie detector and he asked him are chelsea shit he answewred no and guess what he was lying. Asked if he misses liverpool he answered no that was also a lie. He then asked have you been sucking jt off he replied no he failed the whole test.

will you lot stop going on about Torres. Yes the way he left was bad, but in the end I would rather have a player who is committed to LFC than not. There are plenty of people who would move for more money. If any of you guys got offered a lot more money to move jobs wouldn’t you take it. Leave it be we got great money for him-we are the ones that are better off. Just let the guy live his life his way

He may well not feel sorry but I do? What a waste of money. We could of got something a lot better, now, instead of wasting 50 mill in Jan. Shame you won’t go back to the Scouse, but then the Scouse are not that thick to want you.

Why are Liverpool fans so pissed off- u say he left one of the most successful clubs in europe but tell me this- what did HE win at Liverpool, and what were Chelsea winning at the time?

    • Mighty Reds Fan

      June 19, 2011 at 5:20 pm

Toby, all you’re really saying he won NOTHING with Chelsea, but gets paid an extra £80k pw to look awkward in a system that will never suit him.

Maybe Chelsea fans need to consider that Liverpool received £50million for a player that had two major ops in 2010 and hasn’t looked like the same player since.

Liverpool fans are only pissed off with his incessant comments about having ‘no regrets’… LFC have 50million reasons to feel that way, but Kenny Dalglish doesn’t mention it in every interview he gives.

Surely it’s time for Fernando Torres to get over it.

    What’s the big deal??
Gerrard was leaving for chelsea in the good days wasnt he??
Rafa could no longer work under those fools H&G, No players coming in of any note, Masha gone after correctly being advised that under those owners the only way was down!
You think under the old owners and Woy we still have Reina?
One by one all our top stars would have left… Fact!
By the time our new owners came in Roy was our manager, we was at our lowest poiint and it would take time for the new owners to prove their worth.

So I don’t blame Rafa or Masha for leaving specially with gerrard on 5times higher wages than him…

But I blame Torres for his choice of team!

Suarez is a million miles better and we got Carroll thrown in too, I can’t say Liverpool are sorry you left either!!!!!!
