TRANSFER NEWS: Latest Arsenal, Liverpool & Man Utd Gossip
A really busy day with all sorts of rumours involving Liverpool, Man Utd and Arsenal, so lets go to it.
For all you Liverpool Fans
Starting off with the Daily Mirror, the paper reports that Stewart Downing apparently recognizes that he needs to force a move and that he has to submit a transfer request so that he makes the move to Liverpool happen, with the Reds unlikely to meet Aston Villa’s 19 million pound valuation.
And it looks like Aston Villa might actually finally sell, here’s what the Mirror says:
MirrorFootball understands Villa would like to keep Downing but reluctantly accept they may have to sell because they need to help boost new boss Alex McLeish’s transfer budget.
Personally, I won’t be excited over his signature. And something else from this morning’s papers: The Times report that Liverpool are set to secure Charlie Adam’s signature in less than 48 hours.
Cesc Can Go…. if Nasri Stays
Perhaps some puzzling stuff in the The Guardian, whom claim that Arsene Wenger is willing to let go of Fabregas to Barcelona if his Frenchman Samir Nasri stays at The Emirates. The paper claims that Cesc is ‘firmer than ever in his intent to depart for his home club even though he has not lodged an official transfer request.’
And that surprises me, given that he has made these few statements:
“I am an Arsenal player. I have been very happy for eight years and I am very happy. I am not thinking about football right now, just about my holidays” He Told ESPN
“But I am very happy where I am. Anything else would be speculation that is untrue” Cesc Fabregas told BBC
Question remains though: is Nasri really more important to Arsenal than Fabregas?
And Manchester United Transfer Gossip
Last bit for today, and it seems that it is quite busy at Old Trafford. First of all, Izaguirre has claimed that Manchester United are interested in signing him, and even agreed on a date for a meeting.
“I am aware that Manchester United and Celtic agreed for a meeting in July”
Izaguirre said in Honduras
Don’t get the logic behind the move though, I’m sure that Patrice Evra has many more years of playing football in his legs, don’t see him moving either, so this move by United is a bit strange.
And that’s all for today!
