London Rivals Enter Chase For Want-a-way Arsenal Star
Chelsea have joined the race to sign want-away Arsenal midfielder Samir Nasri.
The Gunners ace was reportedly set for a £19million move to Eastlands with Manchester City confident that they had won the race to sign the winger.
But the Daily Mail reports that Chelsea have emerged with a last minute bid for the French international and hope to prize the playmaker away from grasp of Manchester City.
Reports suggested the 24-year old preferred a switch to Eastlands after rejecting an approach from Manchester United. City had reportedly offered the contract rebel a staggering £150,000 a week which appears to be enough to tempt a move north.
But Chelsea have made a last minute approach to sign Nasri and hope to temp the player with a move across the capital with a bid matching City’s. Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger, however, remains hopeful he can either persuade Nasri to stay on or find a buyer abroad.
