REPORTS: Chelsea Battle London Rivals For Essien Replacement
Scott Parker is being lined up as a potential replacement for Michael Essien, according to reports.
Essien, who suffered his third knee injury in training earlier this week has been sent for a scan to discover the full extent of the injury. The Ghanaian has already suffered two serious injuries keeping him out of action for several months on both occasions.
Chelsea will wait until they establish the full extent of the injury before they make a move for a possible replacement and have been linked with a number of potential targets.
West Ham’s Scott Parker is the latest midfielder to be linked with a move to Stamford Bridge according to the Daily Mirror, with the Hammers keen to sell the former Blues man.
Parker earns around £70,000 a week and West Ham are desperate to sell their captain just to get him of their books and have already brought in Newcastle’s Kevin Nolan to replace him. Arsenal and Tottenham have both been linked with a move for Parker, so he may have his choice of fellow London clubs to move to.
