Man Utd Transfer News
REPORT: Sneijder Set For £35m Old Trafford Move
Gulf News has reported that Sir Alex Ferguson’s top target Wesley Sneijder is set to join the Red Devils this week.
The transfer fee is a reported £35 million, which would set United’s transfer record previously owned by out-of-favour striker Dimitar Berbatov (£30.75 million). An anonymous Nerazzurri player told The Sun,
“Everyone expects Wesley’s move to United to be announced soon, maybe as early as Wednesday [today].”
The source added: “He has even spoken to Dutch international team-mate Nigel de Jong to find out where are the best places to live in Manchester.
“It all looks imminent, no matter what Inter or Wesley may say in public.
“It seems Inter want to sell but don’t want to admit it, while Wesley wants to go but doesn’t want to say it. It’s a good move for him and good business for Inter.”
Sneijder is coming off a season plagued by injury, but when at full strength the quality of the Dutch international cannot be questioned. Having led Inter to Champions League glory in 2010 under Jose Mourinho, Sneijder has the necessary success under his belt to lead United’s quest for a 20th league title next season.
