REPORTS: Chelsea Linked With Record Striker Bid
The agent of Porto star Givanildo Vieira de Souza also known as “Hulk” claims his client has been subject to an £70million bid.
The astonishing claim comes after reports suggested Europe’s elite was interested in the powerful forward. Chelsea, AC Milan and Manchester City are amongst those who are reportedly interesting in the 24-year old but the reported bid for the player appears farfetched.
Despite an excellent season in Portugal the claim from the agent appears to be a red herring tact. However, the striker did boast 36 goals and 21 assists last season earning him player and top scorer of the year.
“I would be lying if I said no proposals have emerged to sign Hulk,” Daniel Fonseca told Portuguese newspaper Record.
“I think the highest bid was 80 million (EURO), but Porto did not even want to negotiate.”
Fonseca refused to be drawn on which club had tried to lure Hulk away.
He added: “I cannot reveal that. But it is not hard to see because there are only three or four clubs who are able to present those kind of numbers for a player.”
