OFFICIAL: Chelsea Agree Deal To Sign Romelu Lukaku From Anderlecht
Chelsea have finally reached an agreement with Anderlecht for the signature of Romelu Lukaku, with the Belgian club confirming a deal is in place to take the striker to London.
Several clubs, including premiership pair Arsenal and Chelsea, have been following the 18-year-old forward for some time. But Chelsea were thought to be in pole position to snap up the highly rated youngster.
The Blues have been locked in negotiations for weeks now but it seems the two clubs have finally agreed upon a fee and lukaku will now travel to London in the coming days to under go a medical and agree personal terms. Anderlecht confirmed the news ont heir website:
“RSC Anderlecht and Chelsea have reached an agreement regarding the transfer of Romelu Lukaku,” read teh statement.
“Subject to the results of medical tests and the conclusion of negotiations between the player and the English club, Romelu Lukaku will therefore move into the colours of the London club.”
“We regret the departure of Romelu.
“He was discovered by us and trained in our youth teams. But this transfer is a win-win situation for everybody.
“We’ll surely look for a suited replacement and hope to announce him soon.”
