Chelsea Have Signed Their Very Own Cesc Fabregas

By on August 8, 2011

New Chelsea signing Oriol Romeu hopes to return to Barcelona one day, but will focus on doing well for the Blues in the meantime.

Barca confirmed Chelsea had paid 5million euros (£4.35m) for Romeu, with the deal including a buy-back clause of 10m euros after one year and 15m euros after two.

The promising midfielder admits to supporting his former club and would like to return one day in the future, but remains fully committed to Chelsea right now Regarding the possibility of one day returning to the Nou Camp, Romeu said:

“You never know what can happen in the future. I will always support Barca and hopefully some day I can return there.

“But, right now, what I want is to succeed at Chelsea and be well there.”

Romeu’s situation can be likened to that of Arsenal captain Cesc Fabregas, who joined the Gunner at a young age but has always stated his desire to return ‘home’ at one stage in his career.

    Good luck Chelsea!

Chelsea – We will sell him for 20m
Barca – We will pay you 5m
Chelsea – No – his price is 20m
Barca – He has Barca DNA we will give you 6m
    Chelsea – NO
Barca – You kidnapped him – we will give you 7m
    Chelsea – No
And so on and so on and so on.

Buy back fee is already agreed. I’m surprised at Chelsea.
We (man utd) turned down a deal for thiago, because they wanted a similar deal.
Chelsea develop the player, give him champs league etc, and then he goes back?
They’re not stuck for cash. I can’t see any benefit for Chelsea.

its agree for 8 mill if they wont him back
seems like a stupid deal from chealse
if he turns out to be good
am sure barca will take him back
if not they can keep the barca reject.

I agree 100%. That’s why I’m glad we didn’t sign thiago, and he’s much, much better.

He can be bought back only if Romeu wants to go and barca agrees personal terms with him.Just because Barca will pay 10 million he wont go.

fact is we would delude him and never let him go to barca. didnt you see how chelsea turn players into. madrid tried for cole, Alex, lampard and drogba. but we never let any player go. Mikel, zhirkov are great players when we bought them but see now no one wants us. They only perform for us. We will play Oril out of position and make him look very ordinary until barca looses interest then we will send him on loan for an year. Then when he comes back we will develop him.

Your dreaming. He’s only just signed and he’s saying it’s “his dream to return to barca”.
Cole and lampard are English, so it’s hardly any comparison, and no one has ever bid for drogba.
Your safe with torres though. No one wants him.

He is a good player. Much better than carrol, who cost 15m more.
I can’t see Torres getting a game. On merit anyway. He’s crap.
This kid will replace drogba long term.

LOL, Man U fan claiming they turned down a offer for Thiago, in all reality he didn’t want to go to Manchester and he actually signed a new contract at Barca. Don’t fool yourself, not everyone cares about man u.
