Chilean Coach: I Told Sanchez To Reject Chelsea & United

By on August 11, 2011

Chile coach Claudio Borghi is delighted Alexis Sanchez is now a Barcelona player, after telling him to reject other offers.

Borghi is close to the former Udinese winger and encouraged the 22-year old to reject offers from other clubs and sign for the Catalan giants. Manchester United and Chelsea had both wanted the promising South American but Sanchez opted for a move to La Liga.

“Alexis is still a child, a boy of humble origins who is poised to be the best footballer in the world: I have a bet in this regard,” smiled Borghi.

“His transfer was a soap opera.

“There was a time when there were other options, but I said go to Barcelona, do not hesitate. I know he can develop there.”

thanks for this completely irrelevant information. Seriously, why do you bother?
His coach just told him to go to Barca. Of course he’d do that

Im Sure Borghi will be proved an
idiot in time, either that or he
    pocketed a little present from
    Barcelona to the detriment of
    Alexi Sanchez.

He (Borghi)did not specifically mention man utd&Chelsea but implied it. I am certain Sanchez will live to regret it as Man Utd and Chelsea have better prospects for ages

He’s a very good player with loads of potential,he probably is going to do well with barcelona but i do think there’s also a chance his dream of becoming the best player in the world would be undone cos he’ll be under messi’s shadow…there’s also a chance that if he came to united or chelsea he might have a hard time adapting to the premier league(like most south americans do).but that being said,i think he’ll have had a brighter career had he joined united, then maybe chelsea…ferguson will get the best outta him, defend him if things are not going smoothly,in short fergie won’t give up on him even if he has lost confidence in his abilities no matter how huge the pressure he’s under…my fear for him at barcelona is if he takes him some time to adapt, the fans will all be hounding him(ibrahimovic e.t.c).i’m a united fan but as a fan of football i do wish his potentials are harnessed!
