Arshavin: “Wenger is good, Mourinho a genius”

By Fab4.

Arsenal’s media friendly forward Andrey Arshavin has been at it again, after reiterating his desire to play for Barcelona in a recent interview. Arshavin described the Catalan’s as the best team in the world and it would be the highlight of his career just to play one season for them. The Russian attacker does little to warm himself to Arsenal fans with his all-to-honest remarks in the media, and this latest outburst sounds like an early come-and-get-me plea.

“Even playing just one season for Barcelona would make a pinnacle of my whole career,” Arshavin, who missed Arsenal’s 6-3 aggregate defeat by Barcelona earlier this month with a calf injury, said.

“Barca are the best team in the world and I enjoy their style of play so much. But after watching them against Arsenal [in the Champions League quarter-final] the enjoyment has quickly turned into sorrow.

“They are so much better than anybody else at the moment.”

I am sure we will be hearing a lot more from Andrey and his agent over the coming months. If Barcelona come in and offer over £15m, i say take it and go buy someone who actually wants to play for Arsenal and doesn’t dream of playing for another team. He doesn’t seen interested in fighting for the red and white shirt, let’s try and get a swap deal going maybe with Bojan or better yet, Yaya Toure.

Arshavin also took an inadvertent swipe at Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger, after naming Capello, Hiddink and Mourinho as the best in the world and only describing Wenger as  ‘good’ coach.

“It’s all [Jose] Mourinho’s magic. He is a genius. I think there are three coaches who are the best in the world – Fabio Capello, Jose Mourinho and Guus Hiddink.”If I would pick a coach for the Russian national team, I’d want one of them to be our boss. Arsene Wenger is also a good coach but not for Russia.”

Andrey may have been talking about what is ‘best’ for the Russian national side, but that’s not exactly a glowing reference for Arsene from him is it? He should have more sense than to describe other managers as a genius and the man who trains him every day as only being a ‘good’ coach.

Perhaps im being over-sensitive, but im just getting tired of hearing what Andrey Arshavin has to say. Every week he talks to the press, 99% of the time he is complaining about something or demanding this or that, now he’s started with the whole ‘i love Barca’ rubbish. Someone needs to give him some serious media training or ban him from talking to the press.

Thanks to one of our readers, here is the full script from what Arshavin told the media about Arsene Wenger.

“Wenger is also a good coach, but the Russian team is better suited to the other three. I can’t imagine Wenger outside of Arsenal. I think it’s impossible. He is more than a coach. He works not only with the team, but also shapes the club.

“He’s not only responsible for what happens on the pitch on Saturdays and Wednesdays, but for everything else – how the club works, who they buy, virtually what sponsorship contracts are signed and where to go for pre-season training. He conducts everything.”

Looks like he was talking about who was best suited to the Russian national team job, but it doesn’t detract from the fact he still talks too much and the ‘i love Barca’ rubbish has just started.

Would you be upset if Arshavin left Arsenal? Are you tired of his comments in the press? Please leave your opinions below….

Arshavin IS basically saying what alot of die hard managers are thinking!!!

THE TRUTH and for these reasons he wants to leave and hes making it known!!! ( If fab was his age he’d be gone too!!)

Who can blame him???? He wasn’t licking barca’s ass, or he would of put Pep up in his top 3!! He said Mourinho, Hiddink and Capello!!!! I’m sorry but i cant name a better 3!! and as far as could mourinho work without a budget.. he won the champions league with a portguesse club!! Bloody amazing!!(they didnt make 30 mill signings!) Made chelsea word beaters. Uptill this day he aint lost a home game since his first chelsea game!?!?!?! You either love or hate jose but you got to rate him!!!! Hiddink is another genius!! I remember when he got PSV to knock us out of C.League with only Gomes and Alex!!), he takes South korea and Russia further than theyve been in yearss!! I find it funny that no-one aint said guss or capello aint better than wenger!! Because we know the TRUTH!!!!!

If wenger had tactics like these guys or Star player man management like these lot our trophy cabinet would runeth over!!!!!

    Sorry lads, one more rant!!

When jose fisrt came to chelsea, he said u need a strong squad to win the prem, so we’ll need 22 great players!! Then he won titles back2back!!

Reason why we get so much injuries coz were small, fragile, only have around 12 good player and these guys HAVE to play week in week out or we dont look strong!! and on top of that in the most important position we have ALMUNIA!! gallas and Verm get injured we got Sol and BLOODY no positional sense SILVESTRE at centre back thats not a even a top 4 pairing!!

Wenger says Sol is a great signing!!! I ask why did we ever sell him??

This is not the first time Arsh has disappointed me with his comments. This season alone he has written Arsenal off a number of times. When ever we dropped points he kept saying we will not the premier league. One would wonder why a player of his caliber kept saying this yet he does not do much on the pitch as Cesc has done this season. If only he had performed like the way Rooney, Drogba and Tevez have done for their clubs this season, we would have been somewhere by now. We have always said if only Mr Cesc or RVP or Song was there we would have won. Not Arsh, he has been a great disappointment for sure. LET HIM GO PLEASE!!!!!! After all he has been selfish in front of goal most of the times.
