Luis Suarez was delighted for Andy Carroll as they both scored in Liverpool’s derby win over Everton on Saturday.
Carroll, who has come under the spotlight recently following a string of disappointing displays, opened the scoring, before Suarez secured the 2-0 win following a defensive error from the hosts and the Uruguayan was quick to support his strike partner .
“We tried with one more man,” Suarez told Liverpoolfc.tv. “For a striker you always try to score but I am happy as well today that Andy scored.
“For me it’s unbelievable because I’ve been here nine months and every time the fans help me. It’s unbelievable of them.”
Carroll will be hoping to put the recent criticism behind him now and concentrate on club and country.
