Chelsea target Daniele De Rossi is hopeful of a agreeing a new long term deal at AS Roma, denting the Blues hopes of signing him.
The combative midfielder has been strongly linked with both Chelsea and Manchester City in the past, but the Italian ace is hoping to extend his stay with the i Giallorossi.
Reports suggest the stumbling block is De Rossi’s excessive wage demands, but the Italian has refuted the figures being reported in the media.
“Some people have spoken about figures which are not entirely correct,” De Rossi said.
“This has not impressed me, but I will speak to my agent about my contract, not here in the press room.
“We have not been able to agree, but I am convinced we will reach a solution to suit everyone.”
Some media outlets have suggested the 28-year old is demanding £200,000 a week.
