Arsenal
Arsenal….Who next?
By Guest Writer Sean Oakes.
With Marouane Chamakh signed, sealed and delivered. Just who is next on Arsene Wengers hit-list? Many fans would like big name signings but with that comes big fees and big salaries. As we know this is not the Arsenal way.
Robert Green
As many have seen and said a goalkeeper looks to be imperative. Many names have been thrown around including Gigi Buffon, Hugo Lloris and Joe Hart. I think the solution is far nearer to home though in the shape of West Ham and England number 1 Robert Green. Arsene Wenger is a long time fan of the former Norwich keeper and everything about the deal would tick all of Wengers boxes.
Gary Cahill
The next one would be Bolton’s Gary Cahill who is the type of no nonsense centre half that Arsenal would be interested in. Arsene Wenger has struck up quite a friendship with Owen Coyle and was impressed with the way the Bolton boss handled Jack Wilshere last season. Don’t be surprised to see a deal involving the two clubs for Cahill and maybe a couple of Arsenals youngsters going on loan to Bolton this summer.
If the Fabregas deal does happen then i expect the the money will be spent. But on who? If it was my choice i would spend all of it on Yoann Gourcuff and Eden Hazard.
Yohann Gourcuff
Gourcuff is a wonderful player who in time i expect will be far superior than any other of the so called “New Zizou’s”. Gourcuff has a very quick and intelligent football brain and would slot into the side seamlessly. Fabregas will be a hard act to follow but the young Breton would be the best man for the job.
Eden Hazard
As for Hazard well in my opinion it is only a matter of time before this boy is the best player in the world! Yes he is that good. He has the balance of a dancer and the tricks of a magician. To spend £15million now on him will look like a pittance in two or three years time. The word genius is banded about far too much these days but this guy is definitely one…
