AGENT: ‘Mourinho Pulled Plug On Vidic Swoop’
The agent of Manchester United captain Nemanja Vidic reveals a move to Inter Milan was a possibility while Jose Mourinho was in charge.
The agent of Manchester United captain Nemanja Vidic has revealed a move to Inter Milan was a possibility when Jose Mourinho was in charge.
Silvano Martina claims the so-called ‘Special One’ came in for the Serbian stopper but admits Mourinho decided against the move, after Vidic scored against his side in an important Champions League game.
The move failed to materialise and the defender ended up signing a new five year deal at Old Trafford.
“In fact it is true. I can say that Inter had a go years ago, when Jose Mourinho was in charge. He was a real goal for the Nerazzurri,” Martina told FCInterNews.
“What happened was that Vidic scored an important goal against Inter in the Champions League.
“Yes (Mourinho would not sign someone who has scored against him), but beyond this episode, it is evident that for the present Italian championship it is really difficult to take top players from abroad.”
