Liverpool Legend – Reds Must Buy To Keep Suarez At Anfield

Ex-Liverpool striker John Aldridge has heaped praise on Luis Suarez but warned the Reds need to do all they can to keep their star player at Anfield.

Suarez has been a sensation since his £22m move to Merseyside almost one year ago and has firmly established himself as a key player amongst the Liverpool ranks. In his column in the Liverpool Echo, Aldridge reaffirmed those sentiments but stressed that Liverpool must buy players who can compliment the talents of Suarez in order to keep the Uruguayan at Anfield.

“That Luis Suarez is a bit special isn’t he? He has already established himself as Liverpool’s ‘go to’ man, and now he is doing the same with Uruguay.

“On top of his incredible goalscoring exploits, it was wonderful to hear him talk about staying at Anfield beyond the end of his five year contract, and about how much he was enjoying being a Liverpool player.

“Liverpool need players like Suarez, and they need to add players to support him. He is a special talent and if the club is to get back to winning silverware and being in Europe, they need to keep him happy.

“So far, it looks like they have managed to do so.

“He seems to be enjoying himself, and his performances are reflecting that fact.

“I just hope his words carry more sincerity and integrity than certain others who have gone before him.”
