Villas-Boas Blasts “Stupid” Man Utd Legend
Chelsea manager Andre Villas-Boas has hit-out at Man Utd Gary Neville after the pundit labelled Blues defender David Luis as stupid.
Gary Neville pulled out a nice little crack about Chelsea’s erratic defender David Luiz while commentating on the game which saw Chelsea take on Liverpool on Sunday. The former Manchester United defender jokingly said that the Brazilian played as if he was “being controlled by a 10-year-old playing on his Playstation”.
It was quite amusing, and you can see where he’s coming from thanks to his sometimes questionable, unpredictable and irrational defensive performances as he runs around conceding fouls with his trademark hair bobbing up and down rather comically. However, Neville’s joke did not amuse the Chelsea manager, Andres Villas-Boas. He said during his post match press conference:
“It is his opinion, but it is a stupid approach to an opinion. I respect Gary Neville but that is just ridiculous.”
It isn’t the most controversial thing the Manchester United legend has done in his career in football, but it certainly rubbed the Portuguese manager, who is under increasing pressure in his high expectation job, the wrong way.
