Manchester United have joined the race to sign Liverpool target Xherdan Shaquiri, according to reports today, with Fergie lining up a £10m January move.
Manchester United have joined the race to sign Liverpool target Xherdan Shaquiri, according to reports today.
United found out first hand how talented Shaquiri is, as he helped Basel oust the Premier League giants from the Champions League group stages earlier this month, and according to several reports today Sir Alex Ferguson has identified the diminutive winger as a January transfer target.
The 20-year-old Swiss international is a long-term target for United’s rivals Liverpool, who have scouted the winger on several occasions over the past 18 months, but the Merseysiders could be set to miss out if United follow up on thier initial interest with a firm offer.
The Daily Star has claimed Sir Alex Ferguson has already made contact with the players agent, Ulisse Savini, about a possible €12m deal and it’s been suggested Fergie see’s Shaquiri as a possible long-term replacement to Ryan Giggs.
