Chelsea have failed with a £29m bid for Sao Paulo starlet Lucas Moura, according to talkSPORT. The Liverpool & Man Utd target has a £60m price-tag on his head.
Chelsea have failed with a £29m bid for Sao Paulo starlet Lucas Moura, according to talkSPORT.
Lucas has become one of South America’s hottest properties after a string of impressive displays for Sao Paulo over the past 18 months, and he’s broken into the national team set up making 10 appearances so far for Brazil.
Both Man Utd and Liverpool have been linked with the 19-year-old (source: Mirror) in recent months, but according to talkSPORT it’s Chelsea who’ve made the first move to secure his signature.
The report has quotes from Lucas’ agent, Wagner Ribeiro, who claims that Sao Paulo have slapped a £60m price-tag on the players head and have no desire to sell at this time. Ribeiro goes on to say that Chelsea have had a £29m offer rejected and the player is in no hurry to leave the club:
“The club’s clause is £60m and this greatly influence the offers they receive.
“They do not want to sell and they rejected an offer from Chelsea for £29m. The player has no desire to leave the club at present. Lucas has no preference for any league at the moment.”
