Kenny Dalglish Rules Out New Signings
Kenny Dalglish has ruled out any transfer business at Liverpool before the transfer window closes on Tuesday night, despite being linked with striker moves
Liverpool manager Kenny Dalglish has ruled out any transfer business at Anfield before the transfer window closes on Tuesday night.
Dalglsih told Liverpool’s official website, Liverpoolfc.tv, that he wont be bringing in any fresh faces in the closing stages of the window, while he also ruled out any of his existing playing squad leaving Anfield. He said:
“There’ll be nothing happening here in the transfer window, in or out.
“There’s no need to ask any questions about transfers or speculation or anything else.” Dalglish told Liverpoolfc.tv
Liverpool have been linked with a host of players in recent weeks, with a striker said to be high on Dalglish’s agenda due to their poor goal-scoring record this season.
The latest name to be linked with a move to Anfield is Man City outcast Carlos Tevez, with the Guardian reporting that the Merseysiders asked about a potential swap deal involving Andy Carroll. However, City are said to have rejected that offer out of hand.
Judging by Kenny’s comments today, it looks like Liverpool will have to make do with their existing squad as the club targets a Carling and FA Cup double, as well as trying to secure a top four finish.
