Tottenham To Make Late Move For Liverpool Target?
Tottenham are lining up a late move for Werder Bremen midfielder Marko Marin, according to the Telegraph, with a view to a £10m deal for the versatile midfielder
It’s transfer deadline day and as you’d expect there are plenty of rumours filling the gossip columns. One that caught the eye was the Telegraph‘s report claiming that Tottenham are lining up a late move for Werder Bremen midfielder Marko Marin.
Here’s a quick recap of the Telegraphs report: Tottenham will only make a formal offer, believed to be in excess of £10m, if they’re able to move on fringe players such as Roman Pavlyuchenko. Spurs could face stiff competition for his signature, perhaps from Liverpool who’ve previously been linked, if Bremen decide to sell. Harry Redknapp is keen to sign the 22-year-old due to his versatility, and Bremen may be forced to sell as Marin’s contract is set to expire next year.
This would be an excellent signing should Tottenham pull it off. Marin has impressed hugely at Werder Bremen and can play across the midfield as well behind the main striker, so he would be a useful addition to the squad. He’s not a goal-machine by any stretch of the imagination, with only 12 goals in 99 games for Bremen, but he is useful on the ball and has provided 29 assists during that time.
The Telegraph claim Liverpool have also shown interest in the player, and despite Kenny Dalglish saying there wont be any movement at Anfield, they could yet get involved should the long-term target become available.
