Harry Redknapp has insisted his focus remains on Tottenham and hasn’t thought about the England job, amid intense rumours he’s set to replace Fabio Capello
Harry Redknapp has insisted his focus remains firmly on Tottenham and hasn’t thought about the England job.
The Spurs boss was quoted in the Daily Express as saying that while he was shocked by Fabio Capello’s exit yesterday, he is only thinking about Saturday’s game against Newcastle at White Hart Lane and not about the vacant national team job.
The 64-year-old was cleared of TAX evasion charges yesterday and continued by saying it wouldn’t be right for him to think about another job after the club stood by him during the trial.
“Tottenham have been fantastic to me – It wouldn’t be right to them to think about another job. I haven’t’ thought about helping England out with the Euros. My focus is all on Tottenham.”
“We’ve got an important game on Saturday and that is all there is. I have not thought about the England job I have work to do at Tottenham” Redknapp was quoted as saying in the Daily Express
Redkknapp remains the overwhelming bookies favourite to take over from Capello, while players and pundits have also backed the Tottenham man to lead England in to this summers Euro 2012 championships.
