Chelsea moved level on points with fourth-placed Arsenal after beating 10-man Stoke City 1-0 at Stamford Bridge.
The visitors were down to 10-men early on after striker Ricardo Fuller lashed out at Ivanovic and was shown a straight red. The Blues struggled to create any clear-cut chances but mid-way through the second half they finally found the goal they were looking for.
Juan Mata showed some nice skill on the edge of the area before putting Didier Drogba through on goal, the Ivorian kept a cool head to round the keeper and slot home to score his 100th Premier League goal.
