Spurs announce new multi-million pound deal has been agreed
By Football Talk.
Tottenham have announced on their official website that they have agreed a new multi-million pound shirt sponsorship deal with Autonomy Corporation PLC. The deal is for two years with the option to extend by a further three years, and only covers Premier League matches. The club will announce a separate shirt deal for FA Cup, Carling Cup and European games.
Exact financial details have not been released but it is understood the deal is worth £10m per season, a rise on the £8.5m per season they received from Mansion. Autonomy are a global leader in infrastructure software and listed on the FTSE 100 index. They are currently the UK’s largest software company and as part of the deal Autonomy will work with Tottenham in a consultative support role to enhance services to the fans.
Spurs chairman Daniel Levy said:
“We are delighted to have Autonomy as our new global partner. I have been impressed with Autonomy’s vision and growth for many years, having previously been an investor. Autonomy is the leader in its field and as such is the ideal partner for Tottenham Hotspur at a time when we continue to grow our existing operations and facilities with two major capital expenditure projects underway – a new training centre under construction and proposed new stadium development – both of which will include state-of-the-art technology as part of their world-class designs.”
