Liverpool welcome Aston Villa to Anfield on Saturday looking to end their recent slump in form.
The Reds go into the game having lost six of their last seven Premier League games which has seen their hopes of Champions League football next season go up in smoke and they currently sit in eight position in the league table.
Aston Villa are also desperate for a win as the Midlanders are only five points clear of the relegation zone.
Team News
Liverpool are without goalkeeper Pepe Reina after the Spaniard was sent off for violent conduct last weekend against Newcastle and now faces three games on the sidelines. Alexander Doni will come in to replace Reina and make his first team debut following his summer move to Merseyside.
Kenny Dalglish must also do without Daniel Agger, Martin Kelly and Glen Johnson, who are all still injured. Charlie Adam is also out, and joins fellow midfielder Lucas on the sidelines.
Alex McLeish is able to welcome back Alan Hutton who has recovered from a calf problem, but the Scot must continue to do without the services of several first team players.
Charles N’Zogbia, Richard Dunne, Carlos Cuellar, Darren Bent and Fabian Delph are all out, while young striker Andreas Weimann is a doubt with an ankle injury.
Gabriel Agbonlahor is set to captain the side in place of Stiliyan Petrov, who began his treatment for leukaemia this week.
Likely Line-ups
Predicted Score
The Liverpool players look low on confidence and have virtually nothing to play for in the league. However, the visitors come to Anfield with a make-shift side that is bereft of many of it’s key players. We can see Liverpool picking up a morale-boosting win ahead of their FA Cup semi final with Everton. Liverpool 1-0 Aston Villa.
