Wigan vs Man Utd: Team News, Likely Line-ups & Predicted Score
Wigan Athletic play host to league leaders Manchester United at the DW Stadium tonight. Here is team news, likely line-ups and predicted score for the game.
Wigan play host to league leaders Manchester United at the DW Stadium tonight looking for an unlikely result to climb out of the bottom three.
Roberto Martinez’s side are currently sitting second bottom but could move out of the relegation zone with a point and if other results go their way.
However, they face a side that are in ominous form having won their last eight games on the bounce and the hosts have lost all of their previous 14 meetings with United.
Victory for Sir Alex Ferguson’s side will see them at least maintain their eight point lead over Man City, but could further extend that advantage if City drop points against West Brom tonight.
Team News
Roberto Martinez will have to continue without the services of striker Hugo Rodallega, who has missed the last four weeks with a knee injury. However, there is better news on the fitness of Victor Moses who was a doubt after picking up a knock against Chelsea at the weekend, but is expected to be fit.
Sir Alex Ferguson is likely to rotate his squad for the game. Chris Smalling and Tom Cleverley may come in for Rio Ferdinand and Paul Scholes. Nani is also pushing for a recall after recovering from an ankle injury, while Javier Hernandez may come in for Danny Welbeck up front.
Likely Line-ups
Predicted Score
Wigan have been poor at home this season and victory over Stoke in their last game was their first win in 14 games at the DW Stadium. In contrast, United have been excellent away from Old Trafford having won 12 of their last 17 away games. So the stats suggest an away victory tonight, and we find it hard to disagree. Wigan 0-2 Man Utd.
