Chelsea have received a major injury boost ahead of Tuesday’s decisive second leg with Barcelona, with Sky Sports reporting that striker Didier Drogba has taken part in training today.
Drogba missed Saturday’s 0-0 draw with Arsenal after picking up a knee injury during Wednesday’s 1-0 first leg win at Stamford Bridge and was a doubt for the return tie at the Nou Camp. Roberto Di Matteo gave little away after the game at the Emirates, saying he was unsure over the fitness of Drogba.
However, according to Sky Sports News, the Ivorian is winning his race to be fit and looks set to feature on Tuesday after training with the rest of the squad on Sunday.
Di Matteo will be keen to have Drogba fit for the second leg after the striker bagged the winner on Wednesday and will be a vital outlet at the Nou Camp, when it’s expected that the Blues defence will come under intense pressure throughout the game.
