Liverpool vs Fulham: Preview, Team News, Likely Line-ups & Predicted Score
Liverpool welcome Fulham to Anfield tonight looking for a win ahead of the FA Cup final. Here is a preview with team news, likely line-up and predicted score
Liverpool welcome Fulham to Anfield on Tuesday night looking for a morale boosting win going into Saturday’s FA Cup final with Chelsea.
The Reds have endured a disappointing league campaign that fell apart at the turn of the year, with only Aston Villa and Wolves picking up less points than Liverpool in 2012. However, the Merseysiders will secure a cup double this season if they overcome Chelsea on Saturday, having already won the Carling Cup.
Kenny Dalglish will be hoping his players use tonights game to impress and try and secure a place in his starting eleven at Wembley, although the Anfield boss is likely to rest his key men to avoid the chance of injury.
Despite their poor recent form, Liverpool were hugely impressive last time out as they beat Norwich 3-0 at Carrow Road with Luis Suarez bagging a stunning hat trick. Fulham on the other hand come into the game off the back of a 4-0 thumping by Everton .
Team News
Andy Carroll is likely to return after missing Saturday’s win over Norwich with a minor groin concern, he could replace the rested Luis Suarez up front.
Maxi Rodriquez, Dirk Kuyt, Craig Bellamy and Jay Spearing are expected to come in as Dalglish takes the opportunity to rotate his squad, and is likely to rest Steven Gerrard as well.
Martin Jol is likely to be without striker Andy Johnson who is a major doubt for the game after missing the weekends loss at Everton.
Stephen Kelly is also expected to miss out, as he joins Bryan Ruiz, Zdenek Grygera and Steve Sidwell on the sidelines.
Likely Line-ups
Predicted Score
Fulham have a terrible recent record at Anfield, having never won away to Liverpool in the Premier League and have failed to get on the scoresheet in any of their last five visits. However, they may not get a better chance to break that duck as the Reds have been awful at home this year and have won only one of their last seven games at Anfield. Despite this, we expect Liverpool to have too much for Fulham tonight. Liverpool 2-0 Fulham.
