Settled Van Persie Hints At Arsenal Stay After Moving To New House
Robin van Persie has has dropped his biggest hint yet that he will remain at the club after rejecting a possible move to Juventus and moving to a new house.
Morning Gooners. Interesting reports this morning on the future of Robin van Persie, as the Telegraph are reporting that he has dropped his biggest hint yet that he will remain at the club after rejecting a possible move to Juventus.
The report claims that should the Italian champions make a formal move this summer, the Gunners hitman will turn down the opportunity as he doesn’t see Juventus as a significant step up from Arsenal.
The Telegraph go on to claim that RVP and his family are very settled in London after recently moving to a new house, and the player has told close friends that he would only leave the Emirates if one of Europe’s elite clubs came calling.
What are “Europe’s elite clubs”? If you ask me; Barcelona, Real Madrid and Manchester United. I can’t see Wenger selling to Fergie, so unless Real or Barca come in, RVP is likely to remain at Arsenal.
There are doubts over whether Barcelona will have the finances, with a centre back thought to be their priority after the serious injury to Carles Puyol, while Mourinho has claimed he want’s to keep Gonzalo Higuain leaving little room for another striker at the club.
Some will say Man City are still in the running, but i really can’t see Van P tainting his legendary Arsenal status by selling out and joining Nasri at City. Plus, I don’t think Arsenal will sell to another Premier League club anyway, they would sooner see him run down the final year of his contract. Wenger has hinted as much already.

I must say i was never worried about Van Persie moving to Juventus, I just couldn’t see it happening, but the thing that makes me most confident he’ll stay is that fact he and his family are settled in London. Van Persie has said several times he loves London and loves his kids growing up in London. And after moving to a new house recently, does that sound like a man planning to move elsewhere?
So the signs are becoming stronger and stronger that the Dutchman will be at Arsenal next season. Of course, securing third place on Sunday will help things…A LOT!
