Samir Nasri Taunts Arsenal Fans After Winning The Premier League

Samir Nasri has risked a backlash from Arsenal fans after taunting the Gunners faithful about his successful first season at Man City. See what he said here

Samir Nasri

Samir Nasri has risked a backlash from Arsenal fans after taunting the Gunners faithful about his successful first season at Manchester City.

Nasri became a hate figure at the Emirates when he joined City from Arsenal last summer in a £24m deal after rejecting a new contract offer at the Emirates. Many Gooners felt he had moved to the Etihad for the money after being given a vastly improved contract from the free-spending Manchester side.

The 24-year-old says his decision to leave the Gunners has now been vindicated after picking up the Premier League trophy in his first season at City but went on to take a swipe at Arsenal fans claiming they should celebrate coming third and he will focus on winning titles. Quoted by Sky Sports News, Nasri said:

“People at Arsenal tried to make out that I came here for the money,” Nasri told French TV station TF1. “I hope they are watching me now collecting my Premier League winner’s medal.

“I believe they have not won a trophy for many seasons now.

“If all that I was interested in was money, the easiest decision would have been to stay at Arsenal, picking up my money every week and walking into the team.

“There are many people doing this right now at Arsenal.

“I made the hard choice to come and fight for my place at a big club, where they never settle for second best, and I have proved it correct.

“I now hope the Arsenal fans can get on with their lives and forget me, they should celebrate their third-place achievement and I will focus on winning titles.”

Manchester City bought the BPL trophy with all the players they acquired. The GUNNERS are a better team because we didn’t spend half the money they have spend and still we beat them at Emirates this season. Nasri definitely went there for the money.

yo the truth is bitter u and i know he is 100% right at least where he is at doesnt charge its fans like a club that has been winning trophies and when it comes to signing quality players we can afford the deal cllaspe cause of 5 million extra which theyll loose. Arssenal board scream profits which in coincidence is just about what we got for nasri and fab!

Nasri, you say Arsenal fans should forget you but you clearly cannot forget them, otherwise you wouldn’t keep getting involved in these discussions. If you want to avoid continuing antagonism I suggest you try and rise above it and ignore comments that are against you…..or maybe you can’t do that because you realise there is truth in them? You just need to make your mind up!

He had a bad first season where he didn’t play that much. Let’s see how hard is fight is next season when Hazard and a couple of other better players arrive at city.

Sadly I agree with him. I have to agree with him Wenger is satisfied with qualifying for the champion’s league, not to win titles.

Nasri and Clichy’s first year and they already have tropheys which they wouldnt have if they stayed at Arsenal.

Nasir is right to move on with his life after all arsenal collected big money for the sale of the player. why then is this brohaha about him. He has right to move on in his career. His aspiration is to win medals why wenger aspirationis to make money for the club owners and to qualify for champion league. To me there is a disconnect between his goal and the manager’s goal. He has been vindicated. I congratulate him.

In conclution, i want all arsenal fans to behave like a true sportman and stop this ill feeling about the nasir depature from arsenal.

Hmmmm. It’s better to be quiet and let others speak for you sometimes. There was a certain Adebayor who infamously ran the length of the pitch to taunt arsenal fans. Where is he today? Be wise. It’s too early to hit back young man!

Yes Na$ri won a Premiership medal and fairplay but he still knows he went there for money. Cherish the moment as it’ll be a different story next season after more spending by City and Na$ri will be another cast off as his form this season wasn’t all that impressive.

I am not in the habit of responding to blog stories but this one made me respond for the following reasons:
    >Nasri’s comments; and
    >comments by other fans here.

He states that if he wanted money he would have stayed at Arsenal and collect money at the end of every week. The impression that he gives is that at Man City he works for his money. As stated by other posters here and elsewhere Nasri had less playing time at Man City than he did at Arsenal in the previous season. If one was to use play time to wages ratio, Nasri really worked for his money at Arsenal than he did at Man City. His allegations therefore do not agree with facts on the ground.

Nasri further claims that some players at Arsenal are just there to get their pay cheque without working. Other fans have been throwing in the names of some arsenal players. Looking at the list provided by the fans as proof that Nasri is telling the truth, shows one thing. All these players are second choice in the positions they play in. Their role is to be back full stop. This is the same role that Nasri is playing at City right now including the silent Clichy. Will Yaya Toure be correct to allege as well that Nasri and Clichy are getting money at City without playing?

Trophies are won not by clubs but by the performance of players on the pitch. If Arsenal failed to win trophies during the time that Nasri was at arsenal it is because he and his teammates failed not the club. People will remember in 2008 when Clichy conceded a last minute penalty that saw arsenal draw with Birmingham leading to the collapse of its season. Arsenal fans will also recall last season when Nasri could not convert point blank against Bolton to give us a 2 nil lead if I am not mistaken. We ended up losing that game. Examples are too many to mention.

If the three players that left us are championship material, their stay would have meant 9 top class players if we add Varmelen, Sagna, Koscielny, Chessny, Song, Van Persie. With such number of star players can a team not challenge for trophies?

Some arsenal fans are arguing that Nasri has a point because when he and Clichy left they won a trophy. The question that should be asked is whether Nasri and Clichy had a significant role in Man City’s campaign? It is not questionable that these guys have been used as back ups and nothing else. Man City coach even felt that Nasri was not doing enough. If it was Yaya I would agree but not Nasri.

Eboue went to Galatasary and they won the league there, does it mean that he left for trophies as well? Fabrigas left but he has not been as fortunate as these other ones. Apart from the trophies that came in as a direct consequence of barca’s achievements in the previous season, he is most likely to go trophyless this season, yet he seems to be one that has been very significant for his team. This goes to show that the ambitious ones do not always get due reward.

Nasri do nt have respect atall, people are saying that arsene wenger dont wan to buy players! (ageed) if arsene refues to buy z because he belive in the (the players) but they do not belive in theirselfs. ABOUT NASRI: if nasri go to city and and win is because city players belive in theirselfs so naris is just lucky join players that belive in theirselfs.

My comment might get some of my fellow gooners angry but the way I c it is that we should congratulate Nasri for his medal and show how much class we have and just ignore him and his team and focus on our manager landing us gr8 talent like Podolski and keep the talent we have already to prove our ambition is also to WIN and WIN BEAUTIFUL !!!!!!!!!!!!
That should be our focus and don’t bother ourselves with such comments, Samir is just another player that played for us and gave us some nice performances on the pitch and now he is gone so good luck to him we hope you enjoy your life and please get us out of your head.

It was obvious that Nasri left Arsenal for City bcos of the attractive offer he had from city, but Arsenal will remain a top team in Europe with or without major sponsors. I wish him the very best & hope he never regrets of this his decision he thinks has payed off, lets live to see…Warren,ph Naija.
