Hazard - four to choose from

Lille have confirmed that four clubs are in the running to sign highly-rated winger Eden Hazard this summer, according to Sky Sports News.

Hazard has become one of the most sought-after players in world football after another eye-catching season in Ligue 1, where he was named the Player of the Year for the second season in a row.

The 21-year-old will be leaving the former French champions this summer to move to the Premier League and ended his Lille career in style on Sunday, bagging a hat trick in a 4-1 win over Nancy.

The player was expected to announce his next club after the game last night. However, no announcement was made after the the Belgian revealed he is still mulling over his options and Lille’s managing director, Frederic Paquet, has claimed that four clubs are in the running for his signature.

“I am not sure he knows [who he will sign for] himself where he will go, so for the moment, we don’t know,” he told Sky Sports NewsHD.

“From my knowledge he has four teams interested in buying him.

“It is not up to us to tell to him [where to go].

“We have a very strong relationship with the player, we will work together and are waiting for him to make a choice between these four teams.”

Sky Sports report that both Man City and Man Utd are leading the chase, while Chelsea are also understood to be among the clubs to have registered their interest, but it’s unclear who the fourth side is.

It’s highly likely that the mystery club is either Arsenal or Tottenham, but the North London duo will struggle to compete on a financial level with City, Utd or Chelsea, while Spurs may also find it difficult to attract Hazard to White Hart Lane after cruelly missing out on Champions League football next season.

So Hazard’s future is still up in the air but we’ll keep you up-to-date on how’s things progress in the coming days and weeks.

Where do you think Hazard will end up? Manchester or London? Get involved in the comments section below.

Hazard should just go to Arsenal, assured of first team games. Walcot is shaky, no problem. Gunners supporters were first to dream abou you dont let them down.

    Mombasa, Kenya.

Why does it stand to reason that it’s an EPL side? Why not Real Madrid, Barca, Juve, Milan, Bayern – all of these clubs could probably afford him and have champions league football. Also (speaking as a gooner) he has more chance of sprouting wings and flying to the Etihad than he does of coming to the Emirates by any mode of transport.

I expect Hazard to choose a club that will guarantee him regular playing time. He is still very young, and needs playing time to develop. I think City has more than enough quality mid fielders and hazard may not be given enough playing time at City. I will advise Hazard to join Chelsea where he is best suited and assured 100% playing time.

    simple answer jon…

no league in the world compares with the barclays premier league as it is the best and most competitive where even newly promoted teams like norwich and swansea can beat clubs like United and Arsenal….

Hazard come to Chelsea… it would be the best choice of your life…

We also have other belgian teen sensations like lukaku and de bruyne and you should be a part of them!!! CHAMPIONS OF EUROPE you will surely not get that at Arsenal!!!!

      May 21, 2012 at 11:35 am

Yes Ale, because I bet Lukaku is over the moon he joined Chelsea isn’t he! How many minutes has he played exactly?!?!

No probably wont get champs league winners medal at Arsenal because they don’t just go out & buy success, it must be great watching your team get absolutely murdered 3 games on trot & getting away with it 😉 but what he will get at Arsenal is a team that want to play football & he will be a star at & if Arsenal ever sort there defence out are more than capable of winning top prizes

He will go where the big wages are on offer and that will be City imo. I cant see United or Chelsea paying him the reported 200k a week he is after.

He has not moved for the last four transfer windows and has been chased for three of those by Arsenal. If it was all about money he would have gone earlier.

We need Hazard in Arsenal, but the problem is that, will Wenger buy him? I love Arsenal with all my heart not Wenger.

  7. Oh

    May 21, 2012 at 11:13 am

I would not be surprised if he actually goes for Spurs. Even though they didn’t get in the champions league, they play very attacking football and would give him the chance to play with probably the best midfield in the premiership. It all depends on if he would rather go for money or development and first team footballl. Despite Chealse winning on saturday they are in a hard situation. They don’t have a manger and are loosing some of there players due to age. And they played awfully against Munich. So I don’t know if that is really the best option for him. We shall see soon enough.

    • Lol

      May 21, 2012 at 12:14 pm

Did you just say ‘the best midfield in premiership’!!rofl!!have u any idea what you are talking about? its because of their shaky midfield that spurs have lost so many games. They are such a let off. Due to some stupid tactics by Arry…

The scum are that good I took a £20 bet when Arsenal were 10pts behind that the Gunners would finish above them.

Why did I go for such a bet? – Easy I knew they were bottlers, no matter how much merryment it caused. I’M LAUGHING NOW.

Hazard won’t go to the scum because he wants to advance his career. What might happen is he goes to either Barca or Chelski, because he wants to play alongside Bale or Modric.

If he want to rise his footballing carrier he should join the great manager of all time,he is the only one who can develop him into a world super star, just like CR7. If u follow money then u ‘ll fine urself frustrated at time.

I don’t think ‘mega bucks’ is this young guy’s motivation ? He wants to really prove himself and go on to another level. As he has already admitted that the Premier League is his preferred destination, we can narrow it down to English clubs alone.
Lets look at each in turn :
    1) Man City – have a wealth of talent in this area already, so I’m not so sure Eden would go there unless he gets an cast iron guarantee of playing first team football week in week out ?
    2) Man Utd – Is a viable option, but not so sure eden wants to be away from the capital with a non-french speaking manager ?
    3) Chelsea – might appeal ?
    4) Arsenal – Is an outside strong possiblity to me. They were the first to exoress great interest in Eden and he was rather complimentary of many things about Arsenal towards the end of last season. Wenger’s promise to play him regularly may make all the difference here, as long as Arsenal’s tighht-fisted board are prepared to take the plunge for a real quality signing ??

Arsenal fan here. I don’t want him! He’s got Na$ri written all over him. As good as he is I want us to focus on players who we can actually keep for a while. And we don’t really need more wingers either.

I think Chelsea is the best for hazaard because he is sure of atlest one or two trophy next season, like world club cup & european super cup even leaque,F A cup & first team football kalou & malouda is leaving, forget heavy salary @ man city & embrace succsses is the best for you.

Hazard will certainly regret a move to man city, cos of the excess talents the have in his possition.united, chelsea and arsenal are really inneed of players in his role. But i doubt if wenger and his board will be will to subtract from their profit.united and chelsea are the 2possible options for him

    May 21, 2012 at 12:25 pm

i hope he goes to man city and then they let Adam Johnson leave. So the mighty spur can scoop up Johnson. Perfect fit for spurs and i he wont cost 30 mill and is probably as good.

This is a good test for the boy. Does he just want to be another highly paid mercenary making up numbers on the bench for a fake oil rich sugar daddy funded club that wouldnt even be in any kind of European competition without their sugar daddy (or maybe not even in the premiership in c*tys case) or does he want to go to a well run club, historic club that plays good football like Arsenal or Utd, who would nuture his talent and turn him into a truly great player.

With financial fair play coming in surely c*ty and ch*lsea have to cut their wage bills, not add to them? When you’re already losing 100 million a year, even with the fake sponsorship deals, there’s no way you can balance the books with signings like this.

Wont be long before other clubs start rising up against these oil rich foreigners who are using football as their own personal plaything. These people just make a mockery of the sport.

For the money that c*nt Abramovic spend buying the CL or the Sheik spent buying c*ty the title they could have immunised half of Africa.

    F*cking scum

How funny, when you were throwing the cash about and taking the better players from other clubs, the same clubs you want to rise up, you werent complaining then were you ?

Do you have sky ? I bet you do and where does that money go to ? the fans. Get real football is a global commodity bought and sold like all other commodities. City and chelsea got lucky, who next for a chinese billionaire ? .The City Sheik is spending huge sums on infrastructure around the club. He see’s city as an ideal tool to market around the globe. It could just as easily have been Arsenal or Tottenham. They would have been easier to market being from the capital. In Arsenal’s case a much easier sell given their recent history.BUT history is all it is ask Liverpool, how many people want to conduct business after the team they are supposed to support have lost ? not many.Thats what football is all about now,not the life long fan home and away. Its the corporate or the fan sitting in his armchair in India,Asia, south america and anywhere else the premier league is broadcast. Its the Same in Europe and if you are clinging to the ufea fair play rules your going to be dissapointed, they simply want a bigger cut of revenues. They are jelous of Skys wealth and power. I didnt see them introducing them when Real Madrid were £10s millions in debt and flogging land off to the government for an inflated sum did you ? Check out the highest wages paid by club last season ? was it in the EPL ?

Get over it money dictates who wins and thats it,it is the same in every walk of life . Morally repugnant but a fact

He will joining Arsenal. Mark my word gooner 😉 . The reason why he said he don’t know where to go just because he waiting for wenger to make a move. Wenger will bring the Belgian (Hazard & Vertonghen) to the great Emirates. I’m a gooner, and I do believe that!

vertonghen will be a spurs player next season! his latest comments even after he found out we are not in the CL next season “if i move to England….. it will be spurs” and you probably won’t get Hazard either. neither spurs or Arsenal can compete with the wages dream on!!

I expect him to join AFC, where he’s not only guaranteed a 1st team shirt, but also d tutelage of one of the greatest mentors and gaffers in d thw world, Arsene Wenger! If only Arsenal would pay the Money, I think d Club is d best for Hazard! Hazard shld hazard a move to d emirates and he’ll never regret it!

Hazard story has shown that ambition has no relationship with money. Two years ago, Hazard said his dream ad ambition is to wear Arsenal jersey but that ambition has disappeared since pounds has shown his face to Eden. He can sign for whoever he want to sign for. If he pursue his ambition and dream then he will be an Arsenal player next season and if he choose to chase pounds sterling, he will be at the Eithad is as simple as that.

Most players are scum and have rubbish attitudes. Just read on the bbc site and what torres has to say. The man’s form is horrible, and he is complaining that he did not start. Add the likes of Modric, berba, rooney, nasri and a whole bunch more to that list. Everyone wants to be in starting 11, wants a great salary, and wants to be playing for a top champs league club. hazard might want to join a spurs or arsenal but man city will tempt him with those mega bucks. And city have created a lot more trouble, in that all their surplus players (like Adebayour) are on crazy wages.

    May 21, 2012 at 3:46 pm

Oh my God there are a so many delusional people posting here. He won’t join Arsenal. He won’t join Spurs. I really doubt that he’ll join Chelsea. He might join United or Real Madrid. But he’ll probably join City. Anything else and you’re just fooling yourself.

    May 21, 2012 at 10:20 pm

Arsenal can compete with the financial level more than for an example Man U with high debts. Okey Man City and Chelsea can easily put up cash from their rich owners but if Arsenal wants, they are also able to do that. Arsenal is a club that not wants to use cash they didnt get by their own unlike City and Chelsea. Arsenal are on top 4 of richest clubs in the world.

  25. Stephen

    May 22, 2012 at 6:12 am

Anyone even thinking he’s joining arsenal are stupid, even if arsenal can afford it wringer won’t break the bank, e never has and he never will, he wont join any team outside the EPL he’s said so himself, and he won’t join spurs as spurs can’t afford his wages, and united re in too much debt as it is , it’s out of city or Chelsea

I hope he comes to city, we’re going to be the top dogs in gropes Europe soon

And for everyone complaining about mega bucks

Stfu the fact I if you want to succeed in football these days you have to spend big for big players, united have been doing it for year but because it’s a united lOving media these days they don’t pick up on it
Anyone who questioned otherwise is deluded

What have chelsea got to offer him. They have a squad of dead wood old players
no young ones coming through. Yes they won the f.a cup and champions league.

Yet liverpool won th carling cup. Ut if you look at there league form they where way off.
And nothing we see of them is going to change that next year. Man utd and city will be slugging it out for league. Well chelsea will be fighting spurs and the gunners
