Liverpool have been told by Lyon that they will have to pay £9m if they want to sign long term defensive target Aly Cissokho. Find out all the details here.
The summer transfer window is open and Football Talk will bring you all the latest Liverpool transfer news. Today, Liverpool are linked with a move for a French full back.
Liverpool have been told they will have to pay £9m if they want to sign Lyon defender Aly Cissokho, according to talkSPORT.
The report claims that the Reds are considering bringing in another left back to offer competition to Jose Enrique, and long-term target Aly Cissokho is thought to be high on the agenda.
Lyon are believed to be willing to sell the France international but want to recoup as much of the £12.1m they forked out in 2009 when they signed the player from Porto, with £9m being the minimum required to land the 24-year-old this summer.
Liverpool may face stiff competition from Newcastle and Everton, as well as Italian outfit Napoli, who have all been credited with interest.
FT Verdict
Liverpool have been linked with Cissokho for almost two years now and at £9m he would represent a good buy.

However, i really can’t see Brendan Rogers identifying left back as the first area of concern at Anfield. Jose Enrique had a very solid season and the Liverpool defence overall was decent last term. It’s scoring goals that’s the problem, not conceding them, so i don’t expect Cissokho to move to Liverpool this summer.
