Liverpool Transfer Rumours: Reina Off To Italy?
Italian giants AC Milan are lining up a move for Liverpool’s Spanish goalkeeper Pepe Reina as the Serie A outfit look to strengthen their defence this summer
Football Talk will be keeping you up-to-date with all the latest transfer news throughout the summer. Today, Pepe Reina is linked with a move to AC Milan.
AC Milan are lining up a move for Liverpool goalkeeper Pepe Reina, according to the Daily Mail.
The report claims that the Italian giants are planning a squad overhaul this summer after missing out on the Serie A title to Juventus last season, and want to strengthen between the sticks.
Manager Massimiliano Allegri isn’t convinced by current first choice keeper Christian Abbiati after a number of below par performances last term, and has identified Reina as a potential replacement.
The 29-year-old is tied to a long-term contract at Liverpool but should Milan come calling, the Mail claim the Spaniard may decide it’s time for a new challenge after 7 years at Anfield.
Reina moved to the Reds from Villarreal in 2005 and has gone on to make 254 appearances for the club.
FT Verdict
Can’t see this one happening. Reina seems settled at Liverpool and i doubt a move to Serie A would appeal to him.

It might be a different story if one of Spain’s top two came calling, but i really don’t see Reina leaving Anfield for Italy any time soon.
